There’s lots of activities and events that are out there, so why should you visit StockSport? The question is why not? There is truly something for everyone and hopefully these 10 reasons will convince you to come along and enjoy the fun.

  1. All activities except the running race are FREE. Who doesn’t love a free family day out!
  2. Always wanted to try Yoga, Zumba or Boxing? Now you can and with local Stockport experts. Get there early as it’s first come first served.
  3. Love riding your bike. – This is the event for you. Cycle the town on a traffic free route, get your bike MOT’d for free, try out one of our many quirky bikes or take on the Life Leisure Spin Challenge.
  4. Watch top mountain bike and BMX stunts being performed by the UK’s best pro riders – Danny Butler and his team at the Extreme Mountain Bike Show. Performances at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
  5. Tonnes of family fun – Meet Vernon Bear and Chase the Ace Monkey, try a bit of jogging/running on the ‘My First Mile’, get your sticker for completing the walking trail, you can pedal your own smoothie or get your face painted. But that’s not all, you can test out your skills and score the fastest goal with Stockport County or have a go at fast bowling with Lancashire Cricket Foundation or get active with ACE in their multi-sports/games area.
  6. Free goodies from event partners Trek Wilmslow, Red Bull and Muc Off
  7. Race or jog the 5k distance, with medals for all finishers and prizes for men and women’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It’s not too late Sign up today
  8. Many stalls chock a block with information on all thing’s activity based, see what there is for you and the family to get involved in.
  9. Stockport residents loved the Enduro and Cylcing Festival with lots of positive feedback
  10. Take on the ultimate challenge the 10k running race. This beautifully scenic route takes you into Stockport’s finest parks and out into the Goyt Valley Nature Reserve. Technical T-shirt and medal for all finishers and prizes for men and women’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Sign up
