There’s something very creepy, ghostly, ghastly and very scary about to happen in Stockport town centre. Totally Stockport is back with another brilliant Augmented Reality trail – socially distanced Halloween fun for all the family.
There’s a chill in the air but not just because it’s getting colder! There are spooky goings on in Stockport this Halloween that will make you tingle and send shivers down your spine!
The ghosts are stirring, scary pumpkins are pulling even scarier faces and the wicked witch is casting a spell in her cauldron. Look out – you may have to dodge the bat as he swoops down to attack you but be careful you don’t get eaten by the plant monster!! Spy on the dancing skeletons but keep a watch out for the huge spider spitting venomous green goo at you.
Stockport’s Augmented Reality SPOOKTACULA Halloween Trail swoops into Stockport on Friday 15th October.
Follow the trail around the town centre as many times as you like until 14th November – bring your friends and dodge the spooky characters on the trail.
New to augmented reality? No worries, it’s as easy as saying boo to a ghost! Everyone with a mobile device can join in. Using the GPS enabled map in the app, you’ll be able to find and capture all the characters and scenes you’ll meet along Stockport’s SPOOKTACULA trail.
The trail has been designed for you to discover more about your town centre and have fun in a safe and socially distanced way. Everyone can take part:
Download the ‘Virtually Stockport’ app* from either the Google or Android App store, follow the trail around Stockport town centre and you can virtually meet and interact with all the spring characters. Use the map in the app to find and collect each one.
You can also pick up a trail map in Merseyway shopping centre, from some of the shops in the town centre or it can be downloaded from www.totallystockport.co.uk
*Once downloaded, the app will find and capture the spooky characters and scenes you meet along the trail using an internet/data connection to download map data and make use of GPS to help you find your location on the trail route. Please be aware of others around you, exercise caution regarding the safety of your mobile phone device and, when engaging with the augmented reality characters, make sure you retain your distance from other participants and be aware of road safety and the potential slips, trips and falls when observing content on your mobile device.
