Step into Stockport this Christmas!
Step into Stockport and discover all the exciting activities and events that Totally Stockport have planned to help you celebrate Christmas this December in the town centre.
Meet real elves along the Elf Trail. On Saturday 4th and Saturday 11th December, visit all seven elf stations for some festive fun. Join in the activities and get yourself an elf make over; learn how to make an elf friendship bracelet; write your letter to Santa. Don’t forget to look out for the dancing and singing elves.
Elves stations will be in Mersey Square, Merseyway, Suffragette Square, Great Underbank, Warren Street, Peel Centre & Market Place
The ever-popular Ice Sculpture Trail is back on Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th December. Each Sunday you can watch a live carving of a different sculpture including a Phoenix and a Reindeer. Plus, there will be eight new sculptures for you to find each Sunday in the town centre.
Follow the trail and look out for great photo opportunities with an elf, angel wings, Rudolph and a lion! And for Harry Potter fans, look out for Harry himself, Hedwig Owl and Fawkes bird.
Live carvings will take place between 12- 2pm on Mersey Square
Christmas in the Square – see live acts on the festive stage in St Peter’s Square and a free children’s fun fair!
A packed programme of live entertainment on Saturday 4th and Saturday 11th December. Come along and watch your favourite local choirs, bands, singing and dancing groups performing your favourite Christmas tunes.

Join much loved hero Dick Whittington for the purr-fect family adventure as he seeks fame and fortune alongside his trusty feline friend when he heads off for swashbuckling adventures to prove that good will always win over bad in the Plaza’s popular annual festive Panto treat!

Stockport Market Christmas Give Back Competition – £500 vouchers plus giveaways
After the terrible two years most people have just had, Stockport Market have decided to give something back to their regular customers this Christmas. With £500 of market vouchers, plus some great giveaways, traders are inviting customers to come into the market and enter the Market Christmas Give Back Competition. To be in with a chance of winning, simply visit the market and grab a loyalty card from any trader. Your loyalty card will be stamped each time you visit a stall. Once it’s full, simply complete the details on the back and pop it in the entry box next to the ‘bus stop’ (opposite Dogano’s Pet Supplies). Winners will be selected at random on Saturday 18th December.
