Feathers: A Story of Skulduggery, Extinction and an Act of Parliament. How feathers in Millinery caused such a stir.
Speaker: Sharon Bainbridge
From law to head hunting to millinery isn’t the most obvious route to a career in headwear, Sharon has worked in design for over twenty years and trained with renowned couture milliner Peter Kingston Youel in Leeds. She ran the successful millinery programmes at Leeds and Huddersfield, and many of her former students now work as milliners and millinery teachers. Sharon has exhibited nationally and internationally, has work in museums and makes for private customers. She currently works in Costume Design at Nottingham Trent university. Her latest commission was hats for Kiss me Kate at the Crucible in Sheffield.
